This protest is part of the Stop Burning Trees day of action that coincide with the AGM of Drax, the owner of the Selby Biomass Power station, the Uk's single biggest emitter. The protest aim to highlight the damage of Biofuels, in particular the wood pellets shipped via the Peel Port of Liverpool to Drax Power station in Yorkshire. We will also stand in solidarity local campaigners fighting to protect their green spaces from new infrastructures projects (road and airport expansions) also related to Peel Holdings activities. We will also support the sacked P&O workers and their unions. We will be joined by the Liverpool Socialist Singers.
A number of protests are taking part through the day in London and Yorkshire and more information can be found here.
